Winter Skin Saviours

Winter is often the time most people struggle with their skin. The dry month means your skin can feel tight, uncomfortable and look flakey. Thankfully I did not have this problem for very long this winter as I found some amazing products that have kept my skin hydrated and healthy!

I used to think that in order to have perfect skin I should stick to one brand of skincare, but I have learnt otherwise late with my skincare routine being a mix and match of a range of products and my skin looking better than ever. So here is what I use and how I use it.

I start off by removing my makeup with Garnier’s Micellar Water. I pop some on my cotton pads, swish over my face and boom, no more makeup.

Once that’s done I move on with my favourite face wash by Sanctuary Spa. The Brightening Facial Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser is fantastic for dry skin and throughly cleanses your skin. The cleanser opens your pores to deeply cleanse while acting as a gentle exfoliator to simulate the circulation of blood. This clearer can be used alone or as a facial with the hot cloth included. I use it as a cleanser in the morning and a short, 30 second facial in the evening. The moisturising beeswax and claiming camomile ensure your skin is soft and supple.

Next I use the Dermalogica Daily Mirco Exfoliant. This little baby is incredibly for acne prone skin as it is gentle enough to use every day but tough enough to get rid of any hidden nasties.

I follow this with the new Jurlique Activating Water Essence which contains marshmallow root to hydrate, soften and revitalise your skin. This water essence allows for your serums and moisturisers to be absorbed more by your skin. I have been loving this product and absolutely will continue this as a part of my skincare routine for a long time to come.
Next up are my serums. I use three, one in the morning and two in the evening. In the morning I use Dermalogica’s Ultracalming Serum Concentrate which helps calm my red skin and defend my sensitive skin against the elements. It is amazing at helping calm my eczema due to its anti-inflammatory properties. In the evening I alternate between Goodness Certified Organic Chia Seed Oil and Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron. Goodness Certified Organic Chia Seed Oil is full of essential fatty acids that our body can’t make so its all in all really good for your skin. Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron is fantastic! It is a moisture booster with hyaluronic acid to increase the skins hydration from below.

I follow my serums with a moisture jelly also by Indeed Laboratories. The jelly provides instant and sustained moisture for the skin. The jelly leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and hydrated all day.

I finish off with Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist just because I love the smell and the benefits of this mist are insane.

Once a week I use my Dr Jart Dermaclear Trans-Foam Clay mask to refine my skin. The natural, sun-dried French clay, this 3-in-1 product acts as a clay mask, cleanser and foaming wash to complete deep pore cleansing, keratin care and cleansing at one go. The Green Clay fixes tired skin perfectly.

My favourite pimple eraser are Brite Organix Spotmedic. Though I do not get pimples often, when I do I pop one of these on and overnight my spot is gone. The plaster is a very small hydrocolloid mask that draws out the toxins while you sleep so in the morning your skin is fresh and beautiful. *Side note – my dear rabbit ate the packaging but it is super cute so head here is you need to have a look (and you do)*
Xoxo,
P&P
