Blackout Mask claim to be a skincare revolution so I decided to put their masks to the test. The Australian brand was created due to a lack of high quality, affordable, natural masks so the gorgeous creators decided to do something about it. Interested to know how it turned out? Just keep reading…
Blackout Masks contain no chemicals, parabens, sulphates, silicones or fragrances and are cruelty free. I tried the original mask, Activated Charcoal and Coconut Oil. This mask was formulated for acne-prone skin as charcoal rids the skin of dirt, oils and toxins. These build up and cause blocked pores, pimples and blackheads. The mask also rehydrates for a glowing complexion, reduces redness and moisturises like nothing else. The 100% natural face mask is made with three key ingredients – Activated Charcoal, Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera. Activated Charcoal absorbs 200 times more bacteria than any other cosmetic ingredient so this ingredient is fantastic at removing dirt, oils and toxins from your pores. The second ingredient is Coconut Oil which is super beneficial as it acts as an anti-bacterial agent and penetrates the skin beautiful. It has been found to plump the skin and smooth out imperfections (perfect for fine lines and wrinkles) due to its unique fatty acid. Lastly the Aloe Vera delivers a ton of amino acids and nutrients that the skin just sucks ups. It helps soothe the skin and is used as a natural anti-inflammatory to reduce redness as well as fighting acne scarring.
So now you’ve heard all about the mask, I bet you want to know how it worked on me right? Well the gorgeous team at Blackout Mask sent me a product to post on Instagram. As you all know I use all my products before posting about them, but not all get reviewed on here due to time and all that stuff, but this product was the exception. It is amazing! After the first application my skin instantly felt smoother and looked gorgeous, but I honestly wasn’t sure about its pimple fighting abilities until the third time I used the mask. By the fifth application my skin was smoother, pimple free, bright and looking very healthy. This mask is now a staple in my skin care routine and I use it twice a week.
Just a heads up – its black, meaning it can be messy. HOWEVER, if you apply it with the little brush (included with the mask) and use the 100% cotton towelettes to remove the mask it is pain free. The towelettes are a must have with this mask as you don’t want to get it all over your towels! They are available through the website.
*This product was a gift from the afore mentioned company. The product has been trialled over the period of three weeks before writing a review. All opinions expressed are honest and my own. This is not a sponsored post.
